Material Transparency Guidelines For Sellers
1. Material Transparency (Non-Negotiable)
Every product listing must include the exact fabric composition by percentage.
Accepted format:
"100% Organic Cotton"
"95% Linen, 5% Elastane"
"90% Hemp, 10% Organic Cotton"
Not accepted:
"Cotton Blend"
"Natural Fabric"
"Sustainable Materials"
"Eco-Friendly Fabric"
Vague or unverifiable fabric descriptions will result in the listing being rejected until corrected. New Mode reserves the right to request fabric certification documentation at any time to verify claims.
2. Minimum Natural Fiber Requirement
All products must contain a minimum of 90% natural fibers.
Approved natural fibers:
- Organic Cotton
- Conventional Cotton (minimum OEKO-TEX certified)
- Linen / Flax
- Hemp
- Bamboo (mechanically processed only)
- TENCEL™ / Lyocell (FSC certified)
- Wool (RWS certified)
- Silk / Peace Silk
- Jute
- Ramie
- Modal (ECOVERO™ version only)
- Recycled Cotton (GRS certified)
Conditionally allowed (max 10% and only in specific categories):
- Recycled Polyester / rPET (GRS certified) — activewear and swimwear only
- Elastane / Spandex — max 5% in denim and activewear only
Strictly banned materials:
- Virgin Polyester
- Virgin Nylon
- Acrylic
- PVC / Vinyl
- Conventional non-certified synthetic blends
- Any unverifiable or unlabeled material content
